Research has found that 15 years is optimum.

This statistic is from a study published on March 19, 2008.

As woman that is 42 and feels 22 I’m having a hard time digesting this nugget of information that this recent study suggests.

For me personally it would mean that that my boyfriend or husband would be 57 and at the age of 50 he would be 65.

Perhaps it’s because I have always dated younger men or men in my own age group, give or take a few years but 15 years for me just seems and feels like a big age gap.

Does a woman in her 20’s really have all that much in common with a 35-year-old man? I understand the procreation aspects here but beyond that… I think back to what I knew at 20 compared to when I was 35 and it’s VAST!

I like what this blogger, Burkeman1 had to say on the topic…

And for this woman I’m guessing she is getting up there in age, a man 15 years older how old would he have to be?
