Day 7 of the Love Campaign.

This morning I ran much further than my normal hour long run, and on a Sunday at 6:00 am when it’s still dark out it can be hard to get out of bed and hit the pavement, but it’s always worth it, not just because it’s good for clearing out my head and keeping in shape, but because I can run down the middle of a normally very busy street, close my eyes and think without getting hit by a car.

Last night while I was having dinner I met a man and we started talking about dating, he told me that he thinks that dating is like finding a pair of shoes, “you have to drive your car, park, try on a few, if you can’t find them at Macy’s then you need to get in the car, drive some more, park and go to Bloomingdale’s and so on to find the right pair that fits.”

I agreed with him and his analogy, as we both looked down at my flip flop wearing feet.

And this morning as I ran down the middle of the empty street I was thinking about what he said, and I realized that the shoes I wear most are my running shoes and flip flops.

They are always comfortable and never hurt my feet.
